Irene Aguilar

IIrene Aguilar is from a district in the city of Ocotlan de Morelos in Oxaca, Mexico.

She calls herself a clay craftsperson.

Much of her work is based on traditional Oaxacan figures and religious pices, her humorous females are drawn from magazine pictures and real life.

Irene’s work is on exhibit in Santa Fe at the International Folk Art Museum an dthe Dave Mathers gallery. She has also been featured in a number of major art books here and in Mexico. She has also won many major art awards in Mexico and was given a diploma of recognition from the International Folkart Museum of Mexico.

Manuel Hurtado

IManuel Hurtado began making wire jewelry in Lima, Peru in 1988. For many years, he made mostly earrings, necklaces and other jewelry items with semi precious stones and other natural products such as bamboo and coconut elements. In 1995 he began to develop, a line of wire suncatchers and Christmas ornaments. Those first new ornaments were a great success in the American market. For the next few years Manuel created several new products for export combining wire with a variety of new material such as glass beads, metal, and ceramic elements. Manuel’s product line grew to include other Christmas ornaments, candleholders, flower vases, picture frames, bookmarks and other unique and unusual wire products.
